APPLICATIONS ENGINEER-BMW GROUP
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to Program Manager, Engine Cooling Customer Projects, the incumbent will function as an Applications Engineer and commercial Project Leader for the BMW Account Group. For this position, fan module system integration experience is necessary together with interpretation of customer requirements; specification of form, fit and functions of fan modules; establishment of project plans with coordination of design and development activities for fan module applications; communication with Sales Organization; technical and commercial support for the customer; coordination of APQP team activities ; leadership in the RFQ preparation and submission; support of cost reduction, manufacturing and quality assurance activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Must have a University degree or equivalent - B. Eng. or B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
· 3 - 5 years experience in design or applications in automotive industry
· Excellent computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project)
· Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills
· Excellent English language skills, German or second language an asset
· Project and time management skills
· Knowledge of shroud design, testing, fabrication, acoustics and structural design
· Knowledge of DC motor design and testing
· Skill in fan module system and integration technology
· Plastic injection molding and tooling experience is an asset
· Previous interactions with BMW and/or their Tier 1 suppliers is an asset
· Willing to travel to the customer, supplier and other assembly locations
· Performs other related duties, as assigned.
