PRODUCT (MOTOR) DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - HVAC

Description of Work:
The objective will be to manage the development of engineering projects including costs and engineering activities and to work together with assigned employees. Reporting to the Manager, Motor Development Engineering, you will develop Electro-mechanical products for various automotive HVAC applications. Uphold company mission statement and core values as well as the health, safety and environmental policies.
You will have the following qualifications:
A degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
An understanding of the design and operation of permanent magnet DC electric motors.
Understanding of Magnetic Circuits Analysis and use of related Software (Finite Element Analysis).
An understanding of the design and operation of engine cooling fan modules.
An understanding of automotive HVAC systems.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Project management skills.
An understanding of the Automotive Industry terminology.
Duties will include:
Ø Design and develop new motors and related products and improve existing ones.
Ø Co-ordinates testing and sample builds, review performance & environmental test results.
Ø Troubleshoots related engineering problems and recommends improvements and/or modifications.
Ø Participates in preliminary studies and cost analysis for proposed projects.
Ø Provides technical advice and counsel to other professionals when required.
Ø Maintains technical competence through appropriate training.
Ø Monitors and adopts new technological developments as related to motor design, modeling, and testing methods.
Ø Produces technical reports as required.
Ø Works with customers and suppliers to enhance products.
