Senior Project Manager
Cleveland, OH
Position Summary:
Responsible for success of all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned cross-functional, large corporate projects. These projects have a multi-functional impact (i.e. final customer, organizational wide systems, etc.) Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Ensures that management’s goals and objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame and funding parameters planning, directing and coordinating activities of project teams. Is primary contact on assigned project(s).


Key Responsibilities: (These responsibilities are in addition to an associate project manger and project manager)

-Recruits and assembles project team and assigns individual responsibilities.
Identifies appropriate resources and prepares detailed project activities, estimates, budgets and schedules.
-Creates project contract by interpreting scope and creating objectives of project.
-Understands scope of project and determines the detailed expectations.
-Tracks progress and maintains project budget on assigned projects.
Identifies project risk(s) and may identify company risk(s).
-Facilitates large group meetings and effectively presents and interacts with all levels of management.
-Spends 90% of time managing project and 10% of time engaging in project
-Communicates with project customer(s) and steering group (Products Committee, Business Process Committee) on project scope (costs, benefits, risks and schedule) and progress.
-Monitors and evaluates all project activities for compliance with project management methodologies, policies and procedures
-Ensures that assigned projects adhere to current project management, security, quality, engineering and customer service requirements and standards
-Manages potential risks of Swagelok’s reputation within the industry.
-May oversee and negotiate management of heavy and/or significant project procurement including procurement planning, solicitation, source selection, contract administration and contract close out.

Position Requirements:
Education: 4-year degree by accredited university or college. MBA is preferred. (Type of degree may vary by function). Working towards or has completed project management certification (i.e. Project Management Institute, Product Development Management Association).

Experience:
5+ years of experience as a major contributor in a functional area. 1-3 years of cross-functional experience is desired. Supervisory experience is required. 5+ years of experience leading large departmental or mid-size corporate projects.


Skills/Knowledge:
Applies experience and knowledge at an organizational level. Demonstrates the ability to complete major and complex projects. Advanced problem solving and significant decision making abilities. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to resolve conflict within and outside of team. Strong oral and written communication. Strong computer and typical office software skills. Extensive knowledge of project management fundamentals, process and approaches. High level of understanding of intellectual property system and procedure knowledge.
